BroadsByCycle ImageA new form of Broads bike hire has just parked up in three locations across the River Bure. The scheme, called BroadsByCycle, makes it easier than ever to explore the Broads on two wheels! BroadsByCycle uses technology developed by hourbike.com, which electronically dispenses the bikes to customers. Similar schemes have proved popular in cities across the UK, but have not (until now) launched in any rural areas.

So how does it work?

BroadsByCycle uses 3 docking stations, one in Hoveton (outside the Tourist Information Centre) another at Horning (near the Swan Inn) and a third at Ludham Bridge. Simply book your bike online, choosing between a 2, 4, 8 or 12 hour hire slot. Then when you’ve received a pin code, visit your chosen docking station and enter the pin to release your bike. It’s as easy as that!

Broads bike hire starts from £8 for a 2 hour slot, and monthly or annual memberships are also available for the keen cyclists among you! We recommend hiring a bike and visiting some popular attractions in the area, such as Wroxham Barns, The Dog Pub at Ludham Bridge, or the Galley deli and tea room at Horning.

We can’t think of a better way to spend a sunny afternoon!
