Things to Do with Children in the Broads National Park

There’s plenty of things to do with children in the Broads! Always useful to know when on a boating holiday, these places are easily accessible from the Broads and are perfect for entertaining the little ones!

BeWILDerwood

Fun for all the family, BeWILDerwood recommend the park for ages 2-12. For younger children who aren’t quite ready to explore the bigger playtime equipment, there’s Toddlewood. A smaller version of the BeWILDerwood adventure equipment. Enclosed for safety, this is a fun and safe way to entertain the little ones when boating in the Broads National Park.

Pettitts Animal Adventure Park

A peaceful 15-20-minute walk from the riverside in Reedham, Pettitts Animal Adventure Park is a great leisure park for young children. Featuring 3 parks in 1, there are animals, gentle rides for small ones, and adventure play areas as well as three-daily shows from their resident clown Bubbly Bingo in the outdoor theatre!

Bure Valley Railway – Wroxham station

A leisurely 15-minute walk from the main town, the Wroxham station of the Bure Valley Railway can take you to a number of different places on the line. The railway is built on the former Great Eastern Railway between Wroxham and Aylsham. After closing in 1982, a nine-mile long footpath runs alongside the the Bure Valley track, which opened in 1990. A fun trip for little ones to see some beautiful Norfolk scenery!

Fairhaven Woodland & Water Garden

130 acres of cultivated and natural plantings, a haven for wildlife and wildlife enthusiasts alike, Fairhaven Woodland & Water Garden is a great place to take the younger ones to learn about the nature that calls the Broads National Park home. Complete with a tea room, gift shop, and boat trips on their private Broad, this is a peaceful day out for small children!

Wroxham Barns

Fun for both the young ones but also adults, Wroxham Barns has a variety of different things to do and see, from shopping to a junior farm, mini golf to eating, this is definitely somewhere to make a day trip to! The Junior Farm is a great way for little ones to interact with farm animals, from lamb bottle feeding sessions to cuddles with guinea pigs and chicks!
