Best of the Broads 3-day Route

See the best of the Broads on this three-day route.

If you haven’t picked up your boat too late in the afternoon on day one, head for Acle, cruising across Barton Broad, down the River Ant and on to the River Bure; you will reach the ample mooring at Acle Bridge within three hours. Once there, stroll into the village or drop into the Bridge Inn with its varied menu and children’s play area.

On the second day, cruise along the River Bure to Wroxham, reaching your destination, known as the capital of the Broads, in three and a quarter hours. Mooring is available at the hire boatyards or there are public moorings on the Coltishall side of Wroxham Bridge. (You will need to check whether the bridge clearance is sufficient for your cruiser and use the services of the bridge pilot.) Most of the shops in this lively hub, including the famous Roys’ stores, are in Wroxham’s sister village, Hoveton, on the opposite bank.

On day three, cruise back along the River Bure (feel free to stop off and explore Horning) and back on to the River Ant. For your final overnight mooring – within easy reach of Stalham in the morning – choose the free 24-hour moorings at Ludham Bridge or How Hill.
