Shopping in Great Yarmouth when Visiting the Broads National Park

Great Yarmouth is a fantastic place to stop, especially if you’re visiting the southern Broads on your holiday with us! A welcome stop if you arrive at Breydon Water before the tide is right, if it’s getting dark and you won’t make it to your next destination before nightfall, or simply if you want to visit – Great Yarmouth is a lively seaside town with lots of see, eat, and do! Amongst the fantastic things to do in this coastal town is shopping – so why not indulge in a little retail therapy and see what Great Yarmouth has to offer? Shopping in Great Yarmouth when visiting the Broads is a must!

Being a traditional market town, it makes sense that the first port of call is the large market place in the heart of Great Yarmouth. With a permanent covered market and featuring extra stalls on the market days, which are Wednesdays and Saturdays, you’re bound to find yourself a bargain – and even if you don’t, there’s plenty of market chips to pick up if you’re feeling a bit peckish from your bargain hunting!

Surrounding the market are various shops and stores, including the local department store Palmers where you can find lots of homeware and fashion items! There is also a shopping centre, Market Gates, at the corner of the market which is home to various high-street names like New Look, Superdrug, and Wilko. There is also a large Debenhams department store inside.

Walking towards the seafront along Regent Road you will find a variety of different stores, from body art studios to rock factories where you can see the delicious sweet treat being made! There is also a KFC and McDonald’s at the end of the road closest to town, and there are a number of places to pick up and ice cream or grab some donuts – real seaside treats!

On the outskirts of town there are two large supermarkets, a Tesco Extra and an ASDA. Both are accessible by foot, or are just a short taxi journey from the town centre. These are both great places to stock up on provisions for the boat! Both also have cafes, so if you’re looking for a value for money lunch then this is a good option when shopping in Great Yarmouth when Visiting the Broads!
