Chapelfield Gardens – Norwich

These gardens are located right in the heart of the city – their size and location make them the perfect place to enjoy a relaxing walk or an ice cream. The gardens date back to the 13th century when they were once part of the grounds of a hospital and chapel.

Plantation Gardens – Norwich

Norwich’s ‘Secret Garden’ – set in 3 acres of land beside the Roman Catholic cathedral. Plantation Gardens are the perfect place for a peaceful walk or meditation. As well as the beautiful flowers there are plenty of interesting features including a Gothic fountain, Italian terrace and a 57-foot rustic bridge.

Castle Gardens – Norwich

These city gardens make the perfect spot for a picnic if you are moored up at Norwich. From here you can enjoy an excellent view of the nearby castle, as well as the underground Castle Mall shopping centre’s distinctive glass roof. Best of all, because of the garden’s raised position you can enjoy a lovely cityscape view of Norwich.

Hoveton Hall Gardens – Hoveton

Enjoy a tranquil stroll beside lakes, through woodland and past the 19th-century hall which are all part of these 15-acre gardens. The benches lining the route give you the opportunity to sit and admire the surroundings. The ‘Spider Garden’ is a particular highlight of the walk, especially during the summer when its herbaceous borders are a riot of colour. Afterwards, you can enjoy a cup of tea at the cafe, before buying a plant to take home with you!
